The financial crisis that plunged the world into chaos in 2008 may not be fully behind us, but that has not stopped the number of global Ultra-High Net Worth Individuals from growing ever larger. Worldwide, there are 82,000 people with fortunes exceeding 50 million USD, and among them are 1,226 billionaires.
"Our research shows that the median age of superyacht owners will shift in the next twenty years from between 45 and 55, to between 35 and 45," says Federico Rossi, the Chief Operating Officer of Rossinavi, an Italian shipyard that decided to move ahead of the curve and design three environmentally-conscious superyachts exclusively for millennial customers.
The one that caught our eye was designed in collaboration with an Italian architecture firm that has never actually worked on a naval design before. It is a 53-metre transatlantic cruiser named Attitude, and it brings plenty of fresh ideas to the table.
Among them: an extraordinarily stable yet shallow hull for greater performance and easy mooring; total digital integration of entertainment, navigation and automation systems; a wrap-around aluminium spoiler incorporating a slatted hardtop bimini; a rear-facing semi-submerged beach club; and innovative floor-to-ceiling window glazing that culminates in an all-glass-sided owner's suite.
With its spacious and functional areas boasting unobstructed views, Attitude is an interpretation of a classic lobster boat designed for a new generation looking for a luxury villa at sea.
