In the world of high luxury, brand consistency is everything, and for Dior it doesn't matter whether they are producing a suit, a dress, a watch or a bag. Their modus operandi is to spend endless hours of highly meticulous artisanal work for one fundamental reason: to make the object an expression of pure fantasy.
It's a fact that most watchmakers go to great pains to outdo one another in terms of mechanical complexities, so there is something rather refreshing about a brand like Dior taking so much pride in the aesthetics of their timepieces. Of course, that's not to say they shy away from executing top-notch complications, because they don't. In fact, Zenith is in charge of producing their movements and, naturally, they adhere to the very best Swiss standards of quality, elegance and reliability.

But it is Dior's designers at the brand's headquarters on Paris' Avenue Montaigne who make sure each and every product represents the best of haute couture, meaning the fusion of fashion with the arts of dressmaking, tailoring, and the crafts constituent to apparel and accessories. By doing this they are extending the whole notion of what constitutes a "fashion watch".
"The aesthetic vocabulary of Dior constructs a watch that transcends time, yet also measures it," claims the venerable French maison. A grand statement it may be, but having witnessed how many parts of their watches, or handbags for that matter, are painstakingly executed manually, we realised firsthand how their prices are merely a reflection of the hours of work that went into making them.
The parallels between these two accessory lines are that they are expressions of Dior's leather goods-making know-how, with tremendous work going into even the parts we take for granted. And given their aim of transcending time, it is only right that they create products that last a lifetime.
