One for the Home

Drinking a Long Island Ice Tea or a Virgin Pina Colada used to only be possible when out of the house. Until, that is, Digital Beverages created the possibility of a digital bartender for your home.

Genius may come in all shapes and sizes but is usually spearheaded by a single good idea. “I guess MyFountain touches on the notion that ideas and dreams of the future in science fiction stories and movies are becoming reality and for the better of humankind,” says Martin Arellano inventor of the MyFountain drinks dispenser and founder of Digital Beverages company. “It is popular because we are at the start of a new modern age and the things we dream about can actually come true.”

Functioning on the premise that most packaged drinks such as fruit drinks, cocktails and sodas are five-sixth water and one-sixth concentrate, MyFountain uses tap water as the main ingredient. Add a twist of the digital revolution, some designer looks and you have your very own digital bartender serving up drinks at home. Each part was custom-created and patented.

You can select and quantify your drinks by pressing on relevant icons on the customisable touch-screen network controller and even know when to order a fresh batch of concentrate by verifying the automated inventory. Using wireless or telephony technology, the network controller on each unit informs satellite offices on the status of your supply and delivers the flavoured syrups to your front door.

But perhaps, the factor that tipped the scale in favour of this nomination is MyFountain’s ecological drive. By installing the device in your home, you eliminate gas and carbon emissions created by the transportation of bulk water supply while doing away altogether with aluminium cans and glass bottles. Or as Arellano puts it, “Think Green. Buy a MyFountain and help save the world.”
