2009 - Deep Zoom
May be you already know about Google maps and Bird’s eye views from live.com. Well now Microsoft has launched a new Deep Zoom function within its Silverlight 2 software. It lets you pick out something from a big picture and see it in precise detail no matter how close you go.
2009 - Laservue TVs
By harnesses the power of the world’s purest light, the laser, Mitsubishi has pioneered the best TVs yet. These large screen televisions deliver a colour gamet 200 per cent greater than HDTVs using only one third of the operating power consumption. The screens range is from 65 to 73 inches.
2010 - Pico Projectors
These are projectors that are small enough to be built into just about anything. Imagine giving a PowerPoint presentation from your pen. Or rather than watching a movie on your iPod screen you can relay the image onto a wall almost 3 metres away. The applications are plentiful.
2011 - LucidTouch
Microsoft and Mitsubishi combined forces on this one to create a double sided touch screen that allows multi-touch inputs and easier operation. Basically mobile phones, PC tablets and sat-navs will be revolutionised by this technology. The devices will actually see, reflect and respond to the user’s fingers touching the back of the device.
2025 - Super Hi-Vision Broadcasts
The buzz may be about HD broadcasts nowadays but that will only last until about 2025. Ok so HD may have been the first all digital format for broadcasting and viewing TV programming, but the future is Super Hi-Vision. With a resolution 16 times that of HD, the clarity might just be too real.
