Ever since the brand was founded by Martin Frei and Felix Baumgartner over a quarter of a century ago, Urwerk has been syonymous with unique looking, sci-fi-inspired watches. Their claim to fame of course is an unconventional wandering hour display composed of a trio of satellites that split apart and rotate as they move around the dial. But, underneath all that visual drama there’s also a traditional Swiss lever escapement and we think that this combination of innovation and tradition is fantastic.
For their latest model, the 125,000 USD UR-120 Space Black, they’ve introduced a new look that combines a matte black DLC finish on the 47mm by 44mm titanium and stainless-steel case with some striking neon-coloured accents on the dial. It’s quite subtle for a statement watch, but we like it.
