Hotel Missoni Kuwait mixes fashion, style and first-rate service to bring a truly exceptional experience to Kuwait. Opening in 2010, 53 years after the Missoni fashion house was founded by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, the hotel seems set to issue a challenge to competitors and bring an altogether new experience for Kuwait.
The exterior architects are Dino Georgiou & Partners, while the interior designer is Italian architect Matteo Thun in collaboration with Rosita Missoni herself. Slated to be the first designer hotel of the region, at least until the Armani Hotel in the Burj Dubai open its doors, Hotel Missoni will form the centrepiece of The Symphony, a 35 million KD (120+ million USD) mixed-use development incorporating the twenty-story hotel, a twelve-story office tower, and a super-exclusive shopping mall. Aiming to attract the discerning, modern traveller, Hotel Missoni brings a touch of glamour to proceedings. The designs, though based around Missoni signature aesthetics, were inspired by the Arabian Gulf, this mix between East and West has produced something exceptional. “When it comes to luxury lifestyle hotels, customers are seeking understated and authentic values and ‘hospitality’ is more important than ‘show’,” says Pascal Gadat, general manager of Hotel Missoni, Kuwait. While the interior of the hotel is undeniably beautiful, the service, bars and staff are all held to the exacting standards of the Missoni ideal.
“Bold. Fashionable. Iconic. Authentic. Passionate,” says Gadat, Missoni’s trademark geometric shapes, floral patterns and attention to detail are evident throughout the striking modern design. The latest addition to the Hotel Missoni brand, it titillates the senses and offers exceptional service at the same time. Not just a pretty face, there’s substance to Missoni hotels.
This blend of style, attention to detail and the kind of service traditionally only available at boutique hotels seems set to result in an innovative and exciting addition to the Middle Eastern hotel industry.
