Samandal comics have released their second edition. The creative team behind the project draws on the fact that they were “bitten by radioactive comic bugs at an early age,” in order to produce first-class, trilingual, cartoon-strip books targeted towards adults. Such originality has not gone unnoticed in a region craving such forward thinking. With each of edition, the creators hope to quench the thirst of a public that wants comics that speak of their realities. Future plans for Samandal comics include bringing together artists and writers from all corners of the globe. Pick one up and see what you think.

Miss Guided

Author: Anissa Rafeh

Illustrated by: Benoit Debbane

Anissa Rafeh has just launched her first book about living in the Lebanese fast lane. The book, Miss Guided – How to Step into the Lebanese Glam Lane, was a perfect match for the publishers, Turning Point, who specialise in novels with Lebanese themes. Serving as a guide for Lebanese women around the globe, it is being marketed as a dependable companion for those looking to get to grips with the complex Levantine society. Along with some comical illustrations, the book explores many topics including: how to glam it up, dealing with the family, finding Mr. Right and where to go on holiday. It is a fun read.

Available at all major bookstores.
