GERMANY
Car Brabus Rocket CLS V12 S
Price 526,000 USD
Autobahn police have at their disposal one of the fastest saloon cars ever created. The Brabus Rocket CLS V12 S has a 6.3-litre V12 engine that has been souped up to produce 730bhp at 5100rpm and a mind-blowing 1320 Nm of torque from just 2100rpm. Though electronically limited to 350 km/h, it’s capable of hitting 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds and 200 km/h in an incredible 10.5 seconds. Even on the delimited autobahns you’re not going to get away from this monster.
U.S.A.
Car Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Price 75,000 USD

The Royal Oak Police Department in Michigan has taken possession of a super swift and lightweight Chevrolet Corvette Z06. With a chassis made from aluminium, balsa wood and carbon fibre composite floors, a magnesium alloy engine cradle and connecting rods formed from titanium alloy – it’s clear it owes its speed to its trim body. Thanks to a massive 505bhp 7.1-litre engine it’s one powerful car, it’ll steam to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and 200 km/h in 11.9 seconds. Try to outrun this cop car at your own peril.
ITALY
Car Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
Price 236,000 USD
Lamborghini graciously donated a single Gallardo LP560-4 to Italy’s State Police. Unfortunately, the car was involved in a collision just one month into its service. The 560bhp 'Raging Bull' supercar was allegedly cruising along when a vehicle suddenly pulled out from a petrol station causing the policeman to take evasive action. Though normally capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and 200 km/h in 11.8 seconds, this particular example won’t be breaking any speed records while it receives some urgent TLC in the body shop.
HOLLAND
Car Spyker C8 SWB Spyder
Price 220,000 USD
The police force in the Dutch province of Flevoland is lucky enough to have a Spyker C8 Spider among its fleet of patrol cars. Admittedly signing off on a 240,000 USD sportscar flies in the face of ever-tighter law enforcement budgets but someone, somewhere must have had the guts to approve this acquisition. The beautiful short-wheelbase C8 Spyder has an Audi-supplied 400bhp, 4.2-litre V8 engine capable of propelling it to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds; its top speed is limited to 300 km/h. One thing’s for certain, being a police officer has never looked so good.
ABU DHABI
Car Nissan GT-R
Price 80,000 USD

The Abu Dhabi Police Department recently unveiled the newest addition to its motor pool: a Nissan GT-R, one of the fastest production cars in the world. Even though it’s a Nissan, the GT-R is a rare car; the company only produces 1,000 each month, globally. Under the hood, it boasts 485bhp at 7,000rpm, helping to propel it all the way to a top speed of about 310 km/h with an acceleration to 100 km/h in less than four seconds. The slogan on the side? ‘We ensure your safety... in the fastest way.’ Nice.
ENGLAND
Car Caparo T1
Price 480,000 USD

London Metropolitan Police’s Caparo T1 is a two-seat, open-wheel car with a higher horsepower-to-weight ratio than any other car in the world. The driver sits in an enclosed central cockpit, with space behind for one passenger. The engine is a 3.5-litre, naturally aspirated V-8 engine, which is not all that powerful but the car weighs so little that it feels as though a solid fuel rocket powers it. While it may not have the top speed of the Brabus Police car, the T1 has a 0-200 km/h sprint time of just 5 seconds, meaning only a superbike can keep up.
