Is it a Rolex? An AP? Neither. It’s a Highly Controversial H. Moser & Cie

H.Moser & Cie’s provocative and tongue-in-cheek humour was in full force this year as they trolled the industry with a one-off Frankenstein-like ‘Swiss Icons’ watch that mixed an Hublot case, a bezel combining the shape of an AP and the look of a Rolex, the numerals and crown protection of a Panerai, the crown and cabochon of a Cartier, the dial pattern of a Patek, the inscription of an IWC, the tourbillon bridge of a GP, and the hands of a Breguet. The aim had been to shed light on the industry’s fixation with looking backwards but after being threatened with legal action, they binned the watch and cancelled its charity auction.
