Disorderly love

“With the impact of love, order is shattered, masks fall, feelings are revealed. And colours are in unison. Bright orange attracts turquoise; pink caresses a deep green; orange, red and pink fuse.”

Disorderly love

Ever since Napoleon Bonaparte commissioned it to bejewel his wives, the House of Chaumet has been exploring the realm of human emotions. Thanks to an innovative spirit and a romantic flair, the brand has remained a leader in the designs of every epoch since the company’s founding in 1780 by Marie-Etienne Nitot. ‘Le Grand Frisson’ is the house’s latest luxury jewellery collection, said to be a representation of ‘love at first sight.’

The line up includes thirty unique creations showcasing an asymmetrical display of pure and poetic shapes. The pieces are set with an array of stones such as sparkling jonquil diamonds, deep red rubies, pink sapphires and spessartite garnets. The juxtaposition of colours is truly captivating especially when laid in such an intentionally disorderly manner. The overall effect is said to render the randomness of love. But given that the word diamond, in Sanskrit, actually means ‘love at first sight,’ the sensational result was always a given.
