All in good time

It seems the world of luxury brands and that of haute horlogerie have collided, with truly remarkable results for both. With their shared quest for precision and drive for excellence, perhaps it was an inevitable foray. Bespoke identifies the cream of the crop.

Bottega Veneta & Girard Perregaux

BVX watch

Bottega Veneta, best known for its high level of artisanal craftsmanship and logo-free take on luxury, has recently launched its first watch, the BVX. The elegantly subtle unisex watch features a dark, brushed-titanium curved case with a brown face and a cigar-coloured crocodile strap. But don’t let the sexy simplicity fool you: inside this chic exterior lies an 18-karat rose gold automatic movement made expressly by Girard Perregaux for Bottega Veneta.

Dunhill & Jaeger LeCoultre

Mother of Pearl Facet watch

This exquisite 50mm timepiece features a grey mother of pearl dial, stylishly complimented by a handsome dark grey shagreen leather strap. It may look somewhat avantgarde but the reality is that both of these materials are iconic for the Dunhill brand and have, like the Facet watch silhouette itself, been part of the Dunhill design landscape since the 1930s. Jaeger LeCoultre’s contribution reveals itself within the watches internals, inhabited by the brand’s 822 movement.

Jaeger LeCoultre & Aston Martin

AMVOX2 DB9 Transponder watch

This titanium watch is the most recent addition to an exclusive range of timepieces created jointly by Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin. Aside from the fact that it is handsome and flawlessly executed, it features a touch-sensitive sapphire crystal face: touch the glass where it says ‘open’ or ‘close’ and it locks and unlocks your car. Press both at the same time and the doors stay locked, but it will help you find your car by turning on the headlamps. That’s a slick trick.

Breitling & Bentley

Bentley GMT chronograph

To celebrate Bentley’s launch of the new Continental GT, Breitling for Bentley has issued a 1,000-piece limited edition, black dial, stainless steel GMT chronograph, distinguished by its flange (on the rotating pinion bezel) and rubber strap clad in British Racing Green. The movement is a Breitling Calibre 47B, which features a 24-hour second time zone via the adjustable red hand that is accessed through a push-piece integrated into the left side of the case.

Jean Richard & MV Agusta

MV Agusta Brutale Nera

This 43mm chronograph has a sporty, masculine design, and is, just as the name suggests, inspired by the MV Agusta Brutale motorcycle. The internal mechanics feature a Jean Richard 1000 Calibre self-winding movement, which can be viewed through the smoky transparent back. The case is titanium although it gains a matt black hue thanks to a PVD treatment. The blackness of the dial, the face and the calfskin strap is beautifully offset by touches of red. Only 290 pieces will ever be made.
