2. Heavyweight / Big and gold

Even rest, at the end of the day, comes at a price. The Baldacchino Supreme, the bold collaboration between Stuart Hughes (UK) and Hebanon (Italy), is heavy in weight and gold, at 107 kg and 24 carats. But don’t let the bigger picture allow you to miss details such as the gold leaf engravings. Italian silk and cotton ensure comfort and the handmade headboard can be customised with diamond buttons or other stones, at your request. It may be for a hefty sum, but everything can be customised from the fabric to the decorative elements. There’s a catch though, only two of these are ever to be made, so if you can afford it, it’s time to take out that cheque book.

4. Wood check

Designed by Dina Rothstein, creative director of SURevolution, an organization that caters to the luxury market with artisanal craftsmanship, this exquisite wooden chess board, you will be pleased to know, was discovered by AHAlife. Otherwise, you may have not heard about the handcarved gem made by artisans from Bogota, Columbia. Curating the most exceptional and unique products from around the world by influential tastemakers is AHAlife’s specialty and they certainly got it right with this game board. Not only will you appreciate the rich colours of reclaimed wood from the South American rainforest’s tropical carreto trees, but you will also be supporting indigenous woodworkers and indirectly purchasing the tagua seeds from growers’ collectives. Who ever thought that playing some chess would be so good for the environment? And, since this board set is handmade, you will not find two that are alike.

5. Fibre proof

When it comes to furniture, it is difficult not to be choosy. That is when Mast 3.0 comes in to make your life easier for you, where high-tech meets design and craft. For the modern look with clean lines, sleek postures and either matte or glossy finishing, you have a tight selection to choose from, both in colour and style. And the good news is, the furniture comes in black, white, red, or cappuccino, Italian style, exactly the same tones as Ferrari’s cars, due to an exclusive agreement. We especially like the carbon fibre texture used in building them, also the same as Ferrari’s. The pieces may look light, but they are extremely resistant, even more than steel, to be precise.

6. Concrete slap (slab) or Unhinged

If you love tennis table and you love the outdoors, then you are going to adore this Henge T40, a formidable sight. Aesthetics here is not separate from durability. Moulded using reinforced concrete, the standard is a silk table top, in two shades of grey and a steel powder coated black or white net. You can also customise with coloured, anti-graffiti sealants, polished aggregates, tinted concrete, different net options, and inlay designs at an additional cost. Henge may be a term from the Middle Ages referring to an oval berm used for social assembly, but there is nothing middle-aged about this piece. With tamper resistant stainless steel fasteners, you have nothing to worry about, should you decide to mount this thing in your backyard, especially since you will find quite a few in public spaces.
