It was back in 2015 that the Four Seasons first launched its Private Jet Experience offering impeccably curated trips that combine the thrill of around-the-world travel with the service and luxury guests expect from the world’s leading operator of luxury hotels.
The concept – namely for upwards of 147,000 USD per person, you get a swish three-week adventure spanning multiple countries and continents, complete with Four Seasons lodging wherever the plane touches down – evidently struck a chord with the kind of well-heeled travellers for whom sorting their own itineraries would involve far too much fuss and nonsense.
Indeed, so successful is this division of Four Seasons that it has unveiled a new, custom-designed Airbus A321neo, to offer even greater luxury and amenities, and it’s going to start operating the craft in January 2021.
The group’s Vice President for Design, Dana Kalczak, says the inspiration behind the new jet was “the glamour and prestige of air travel in times past, when every flight was a special occasion” and seemingly no expense has been spared in its creation.
The medium-range airliner has been kitted out with just 48 handcrafted seats upholstered with soft Italian leather, each with its own ottoman and two metres of personal space. These are arranged to facilitate and encourage spontaneous social interaction between like-minded passengers.
Onboard Executive Chef, Kerry Sear, will provide anything from three Michelin Star-standard cuisine to peanut butter sandwiches – whatever and whenever you want. And if you feel like getting freshened up and changed for dinner there are even dedicated spaces with full-length mirrors, leather bench seats and toiletries.
Of course, however luxurious any jet is, it’s essentially a means of transportation and, in this case it’s used between destinations in Four Seasons’ quite incredible ‘Experience’ holidays, which last three weeks and take in many of the world’s most spectacular locations and cultural experiences. Of course, for such a price, you’d expect this to be the ultimate ‘package holiday’ and you’d be right – from the onboard sommelier to the assistants who take care of all customs clearances and a doctor who’s on hand at all times, there’s simply nothing like this.
