The landmark Carlton Hotel, on the Croisette in Cannes, has been sold to Lebanese businessman, Toufic Aboukhater, as part of a 450 million Euro deal (640 million USD), in which Morgan Stanley is selling the seven InterCon hotels it currently owns. The bank had bough them for 634 millon Euros as part of the Morgan Stanley real estate funds in 2006 but then got been hit by the economic downturn.

Al Ain Paradise, the hanging gardens of the U.A.E. city of Al Ain has once again opened its doors to the public following lengthy repairs to the damage caused by vandals shortly after it was first inaugurated last year. The park gained international distinction when it received a Guinness World Record for the most flower baskets in any one place (2,426 for your information).

The English lingerie retailer Agent Provocateur opened in May in downtown Beirut. Started in 1994 in London’s Soho, by Joseph Corré and his partner Serena Rees, the brand has managed to tread a line that balances daring erotica and high fashion. Serena Rees explains it as, “We are not afraid to take risks. If we want to do something we simply do it. We don't care what anyone else thinks and we are fiercely passionate about what we do.”
