While we’re not entirely convinced by the Cybertruck’s divisive design, it is unquestionably daring and dramatic. We just hope owners won’t have to incessantly defend their purchase decision.
We’ll also need to ignore how extraordinarily heavy the truck is, as that’s antithetical to electrification but it’s supposedly going to have a SpaceX-developed cold-rolled stainless-steel alloy exoskeleton body that can’t be dented.
The Cybertruck will be available with either one, two or three motors. The 70k USD top spec variant will apparently be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3 seconds. That’s faster than a Porsche 911!
The rearview mirror is not a mirror. Technically it’s a display screen that shows a live feed from a high-def camera in the back. When you adjust the mirror (we mean screen) it adjusts the camera at the same time.
The display in the dash is a 17-inch landscape screen, which is a first for Tesla, and the truck seats six, in two rows of three. (The middle seat in the front is capable of folding down into a centre armrest with cup holders).
It has some brilliant features like a modular front light bar and integrated roof bar not to mention a large flatbed with autonomous trailer hitching, and a ramp that folds out so you can drive your quad on easily.
